A lightly used GPS-disciplined NTP server and LED time display in a convenient 1U rackmount format. The item has been tested and confirmed to work as it should. The web based display of the satellite constellation requires the use of Java which worked well for me when testing using IE11 but later browsers may not now have that capability. A basic test antenna is included but for a permanent installation a professional grade outdoor antenna (5V) should be used and be mounted where it has a full view of the sky. Brandywine Communications NTV-100RG is an affordable, convenient and flexible NTP Server. This network time server accurately time synchronizes computers, time displays, PBX’s, and a wide variety of other equipment. The NTV-100RG is a small, rack mounted NTP Server that can synchronize to GPS or to the IRIG B time code to provide NTP time. With eight built-in channels in a compact 1U chassis, the NTV-100RG can also accept NTP and output serial time messages for synchronizing external devices such as time displays.
The Brandywine Communication Network Time Device’s (NTV) purpose is to function as a network time server for other devices (clients) on a computer network. A built-in GPS receiver receives precise time signals from orbiting GPS satellites and uses these signals to synchronize the internal clock of the Network Time Device. Using a closed loop control system, the Network Time Device will correct its clocks based on the time difference between its internal clocks and the reference. A second order digital phase lock loop (PLL) is used to adjust the internal clocks of the Network Time Device to match the time of the reference over long time intervals.
