ESE ES-185U GPS Satellite SMPTE/EBU TC90 Serial Timecode Source LED Atomic Clock [Used]
( 286289116501) )
Tested/Guaranteed • Very Good Condition • Large LED Time Display • Usually $2,300 • Includes Basic Test Antenna • Outputs SMPTE/EBU, ESE, RS-232, USB Timecode
Here's a lightly used ESE GPS disciplined clock. The unit is in very good cosmetic condition and fully working, including showing the correct date thanks to a recently-installed upgraded GPS receiver module from iLotus. The internal rechargeable lead-acid back up battery has not been replaced as it would be better that this be done when there is no risk of the battery being allowed to deep discharge. It takes a very standard (and cheap) small 6V lead acid type. A basic indoor test antenna is included to get you started but for optimal results you should plan on using a professional grade outdoor antenna with a full view of the sky. Note that you will need the ESE control application (from their website at https://ese-web.com/ftp/MasterControlPanelv2.0.zip) to change the timezone and other parameters. The control applet allows you to set the DST rules manually for worldwide compatibility. No unpictured cables, accessories or documents are included. No printed manual is included but a copy may be downloaded from https://www.prostudioconnection.net/1701/ES-185U_Manual.pdf if required.
Usually Sells for $2,370
Description
The ES-185U/NTP from ESE is a GPS master clock and timecode generator that displays the day of year, hour, minute, and second in nine digits of UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), as received via the internal 12-channel GPS receiver. Simultaneously, it generates several types of timecode and an extremely accurate 1PPS signal (+/-10 ns). These outputs allow the unit to easily interface with a new or existing computer, automation, and clock systems.
