Description

A very versatile tool for creative use of light. Most commonly used to project patterns onto backgrounds, but may also be used to create a 'spot light' effect to highlight a very controlled area of the frame.

The unit was made in England by Bowens, and sold in the USA by Calumet. Input power is 115V AC.

The Bowens Monospot has a modeling light and an adjustable and powerful 400Ws strobe flash tube. The strobe can be switched between full and half power. The modeling light allows you to see the affect achieved. The projected flash (and the modeling light) can be modified by an adjustable iris to alter the spot diameter. The focusing lens can also be adjusted to create hard or soft edges in the projected pattern

As well as using commercial discs you can make your own semi-transparent media.
