A lightly used GPS Timecode source. This unit has the optional 10Mhz and 1KHz GPSDO frequency outputs installed. It is the DC power version of the ES-101 - normally power is applied on pins 1 and 9 of the rear panel DB9 serial port connector. For ease of connection, an additional DC power input jack has been installed on the rear panel so that the RS-232 port is left free for use by a conventional serial cable (but note that the DC input voltage is still connected to Pins 1 and 9). The internal coin cell battery which maintains settings if the power is disconnected has been replaced by a more substantial AA sized lithium battery which should provide good service for a number of years into the future. A basic test antenna is included, but a professional grade outdoor antenna of 25dB of more will probably be required for correct operation. I doubt that this unit will achieve sync with the antenna behind a window. Note that you may need the ESE PC-based RS-232 control application, GPS32, (from their website) to initialize the unit when you start testing, particularly if the unit has not been powered up for some time.

Description

The ES-101 is a very accurate GPS Master Clock/Time Code Generator. The unit receives time and date information from Global Positioning System satellites and supplies this data to the user in the form of three different types of time code. ... ASCII (RS-232C), ESE-TC89 and ESE-TC90. Two One Pulse Per Second outputs and a GPS "Lock" output are also standard features. A twelve-channel receiver is employed that is capable of tracking up to twelve satellites simultaneously, although reception of only one is required for time data to be output.
