A used portable
Access handheld codec. It has been tested to confirm correct
operation. The LCD screen, backlight and digitizer are new
so the image is bright and clear. It has the AAC Codec
set installed and has the optional Traversal Server license
installed. The photos show the actual item for sale. The
unit has been updated with the latest firmware offered
(3.0-p13) and reset to factory default settings (logon is
admin:comrex, and the IP address is assigned by DHCP). The
battery is holding a charge but is not otherwise
guaranteed. It's probably good for covering a short
interruption but I would recommend replacement for a
critical broadcast. It's a generic 'camcorder' type and
additional cells are readily available
on-line from $20. Note that the internal web
server (if you want to access the config screens remotely
over the network) is based on Flash technology so you will
probably need to use an older browser to access it as
current versions do not support that code. All functions are
accessible via the touch screen (stylus included) so there
may be little practical need to access settings via
HTTP. For more information please consult the Product
Manual.

The Smart Codec
Using BRIC technology means you won’t have to mess with
ACCESS advanced settings. The sophisticated engine of ACCESS is
clever enough to assess circuit conditions and adapt on the fly
without user intervention. ACCESS is constantly working to
compensate for deficits in the quality of service, so no one has
to hear how bad the public Internet can be.
For the technically advanced, the menus are there. So, if you
are a power user, you can configure ACCESS to be whatever you
need. You can increase the delay cushion or twiddle the "frames
per packet" to your heart’s content. But isn’t it great to know
that you probably will never need to.
The powerful Codec
Whatever the audio transmission job, whatever the circuit,
ACCESS has a mode for you. From linear mono or stereo audio to
an ultra-low bit rate algorithm, there is a wide range of audio
choices to fit virtually any programming need.
